I'ma goin' home

Booked my ticket back to the US today.  I'll be arriving in Burlington at 10:06pm on May 7th, so that's about 30 days from now.

Katy and I just got back from a nice, but rainy camping trip to a place called Tai Long Wan on Lantau Island, not the other one in Sai Kung or the other one on Hong Kong Island.

I had a great Easter with Katy's family last weekend, I stay over in Ma On Shan Saturday night, then went to church service Sunday and hid Easter eggs for the kids.  After we went to lunch and then saw How to Train Your Dragon.  Then I caught the bus back to Lantau and met up with James and Nate and we took off to Central and then over to Lamma Island to the place we played music at last year. We took the last ferry back at 11:30

Monday we went back to Lamma to play at the same place again, it was pretty great both nights, i'll upload some pictures soon.

Tomorrow I'm going into the city to pay for my ticket since I booked it through a travel agent, deposit money, bring my iPod in, and swing by a music store for strings.

  1. Dear Mrs. Petrashune and the Petrashune family...

Thank you so, so much for the amazing and wonderful gifts!!!

I absolutely LOVE the Hong Kong OPI nail polish, the t-shirt, the bookmark, and the chipmunk! They are all brilliant, and I was so excited to open each present.

I have already put the bookmark in a book I am reading, and the chipmunk now has a special place in Adam's flat, right in front of a landscape picture he (Adam, not the chipmunk) painted so it actually looks like the chipmunk is kind of sitting in the picture. I think it's awesome!! :-) I seriously cannot wait to paint my nails with my new polish (it's gorgeous!), and I love the t-shirt and can't wait to wear it... tomorrow!!

I'm really looking forward to spending time with you in July when I come visit!!!

    Thank you again!!

    Katy :-)

  4. Hi Adam-thanks for all the updates. I got behind on your blog notes. Been taking care of Pepe' since his latest pneumonia attack. He is doing much better now. As a matter of fact, we are going to the fiddler meet tonight in Redford and he is coming with us. We missed you on Easter but our thoughts were with you. We had a beautiful warm day unlike other years. The family enjoyed the fun and sun. Looking forward to seeing you back in the US. Everyone will be looking forward to hearing about your experiences. Say hi to Katy for us. God bless you both. Keep safe!!! Love Nana & Papa C

  5. This is a cool site with pictures and a written overview of our hiking trip tomorrow (I hope the link works!!!):

It even talks about the island that belongs to China that you were telling me about! It says, "It was high tide, otherwise I would have been able to cross over to an island belonging to China which can be reached on dry feet during low tides."

And the Hong Kong Observatory says it's supposed to be sunny tomorrow! I'm getting really excited! I hope we see lots of cool stuff!!!

    Woo hoo!!

  6. Hi Adam- April is well on its way! We actually had a dusting of snow this am :( The good part is it melted quickly and the sun came out about 11:00 or so :). Windy with temps. in low 40s today. Hope all is well with you and Katy. I am at work an haven't had a chance to see pictures of your camping, etc. but I will make a point of it when I get home. It's been a pretty quiet week. K-ten is off this coming week for spring break. She is sewing and crafting this week.We are also spring cleaning and getting the basement in order. Your banjos anxiously await your return!!! We are thinking of you and are excited for your return. Love you much- Mom~
